| How about a regular series on health disparities issues, with a different therapeutic/disease area covered each time? How about interviews with, or contributions by, experts in each of these areas? We need to keep drilling away at these issues. A huge part of the gap has to do with the way we manage the communication about these issues. They are simply not made part of the common lexicon, not treated as issues we should take community and personal ownership over. We have to do more to grant these topics priority in the landscape of our everyday lives. |

| Thanks very much for the coverage of this critical health issue. I must point out, however, that the article neglected to mention the groundwork being done by the Durham Health Coalition, with whom Dr. Elsie Leak is in fact affiliated. We could benefit from more intense coverage of the same and other minority health and health disparities issues, not the least of which is the other disparity: the need for minority inclusion in clinical trials. The work is broad, intertwined, and critically important. I hope we can call on you for additional coverage. Thanks for your part in our efforts. |
